Econo Lodge Motel in Houston- It’s Great, If You Can Find It
I stayed in the Econo Lodge Motel during my last trip to Houston, Texas because you can get free motel specials and I wanted a motel that was close to the freeway. The place was a bit difficult to find though, so I ended up getting lost for about a quarter on an hour before finding the place. It’s times like this when I wish I had a GPS.The hotel manager was very courteous to me when I approached the front desk, even though I was evidently grumpy. I handed him my Econo Lodge budget hotel coupons, and in a few minutes, he processed my reservation. Then, he led me to my room.
The room was spacious and it had all the amenities I needed, including a large television, a king size bed, a refrigerator, and even a microwave. The air conditioner was working well and the bathroom was clean.
I ordered take-out from the Wendy’s Burger branch nearby, and enjoyed it in my room, while watching the Lifestyle Network on television. The next day, I tried the complimentary breakfast provided in the reception lobby. It was good, but nothing great.
Econo Lodge Motel in Houson- Great Location and Great Service
The location of the motel was very good. I spent the morning till early afternoon shopping in the Galleria Mall. Afterward, I went for an afternoon visit to the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. While there, I also trekked through the Big Bend National Park which was nature at its most beautiful.It was evening by the time I got back to the motel. When I got to my room, I was happy to see that it and the bathroom were crystal clean. The room service in this motel is excellent. The wake-up call I requested came promptly that morning, and the extra pillow I asked for in the middle of the night was happily given to me as well.
